The International Engineering Alliance, established in 2001, is composed of 3 accords for engineering education and 4 competence and mobility agreements.
The Washington Accord, established in 1989, is an international accord of bodies accrediting bachelor level engineering programs. JABEE became a signatory in 2005.
The Seoul Accord, established in 2008, is an International accord of bodies accrediting tertiary-level computing and IT-related programs. JABEE is a founding member.
UNESCO-UIA is an international framework established by UNESCO and UIA (International Union of Architects) to ensure the standard for architectural education. JABEE was recognized as an accreditation body in 2009.
The Canberra Accord is an international agreement among bodies responsible for accrediting architectural education programs. JABEE became provisional member in 2014 and is currently filing its application to become a signatory.
NABEEA (Network of Accreditation Bodies for Engineering Education in Asia), established in 2003, is a network of respective accreditation bodies of engineering education programs in Asia. JABEE is one of the funding and council members.
Mutual Cooperation with Accreditation Bodies Abroad
JABEE signed bilateral MOUs with other Washington Accord signatories: ABET, EA, ABEEK, IEET and CAST.
The signatories of the international accords are required to contribute to the accords’ activities. One of the contributions and obligations is to participate in the Periodic Reviews to other signatories and in the reviews to bodies applying for the signatory status. JABEE trains candidates for accord reviewers.
